| 8/14/2024 -8/14/2024 | August 14 – Plastic Pollution: Incorporating Education and Best Practices into Programming Carolyn Kovacs, Florida Sea Grant Agent for Flagler and Volusia Counties & Florida SEE Board Member Plastic pollution is unfortunately a common sight on beaches and in other natural areas throughout Florida. Ecotour operators have a unique opportunity to educate residents and visitors to Florida as well as model best practices for them. Learn about the different types of plastics with a fun virtual experiment (which you can adapt and replicate in your programming!) and how these types show up differently in our environments. We will also discuss best practices ecotour operators can model as well as information we can share with participants to empower them to protect these environments. |
