Wekiva/St. Johns River Ramble

Date/Time
12/5/2014 - 12/8/2014
Check in: 1-5PM on December 5
Event Description
From December 5-8, work off holiday stress with a leisurely 30-mile paddle on this National Wild and Scenic River, continuing on to the the St. Johns River, and ending at Blue Springs State Park. We will camp in rustic cabins at Wekiwa Springs State Park the first two nights and  in tents at a Seminole County park on the third night.  This spring fed, riverine habitat, teeming with flora and fauna, is beautiful and truly unique. Previous trips have afforded views of sandhill cranes, limpkins, Florida black bears, and dozens of manatees.

Paddle Florida arranges all camping sites and provides three meals daily.  Your camping gear is transported for you, so there's no need to weigh down canoes/kayaks with tents and other gear.  Vehicle and boat shuttles are available.  Evening musical entertainment and educational programming is also provided.
